On 13 August 2024, we successfully held a Learning Journey event at LionsBot International! Co-organising the event with LionsBot created a fruitful experience for all of our guests, including the Guest of Honour – Senior Parliamentary Secretary Shawn Huang, as they got to learn and witness firsthand their efforts in fostering innovation and developing employees.
Dylan Ng, the CEO and Co-founder of LionsBot, kicked off the Learning Journey after SPS Shawn Huang’s arrival by sharing their history, journey, philosophy, and beliefs. From their mindset when it comes to innovation to their commitment to ensuring the development and diversification of their talent pool.
Just hearing about it wouldn’t be enough, so we ensured that all of the guests had the opportunity to tour the robot factory of LionsBot to see the innovation at work for themselves.
As part of a streamlined and concise journey around the factory, the guests witnessed the birthing of robots via assembly, engineering, and the skills of their employees at work all the way to the testing and packaging to produce a robot ready to work.
Innovation comes from more than just production, as LionsBot even endeavours to understand the pain points of its consumers. With the goal of their robot cleaners to ease the jobs of cleaning employees everywhere, they also developed gadgets to allow younger adults to experience common issues of older cleaning employees – such as poor vision, back pain, weak grip, and more.
By understanding their pain points better, LionsBot is much more able to innovate effectively.
In order to ensure that the guests are able to hear in depth on how they can apply learnings to their own companies, every Learning Journey must have a panel discussion.
This panel included our Guest of Honour SPS Shawn Huang, Dylan Ng of LionsBot, with the addition of Louis Khoo of Kimly Construction and Ken Leong of 361 Degree Consultancy.
Of course, LionsBot isn’t the only one we heard from.
361 Degree Consultancy, the Supporting Organiser for the event, had the chance to share on ways that companies can adopt digital solutions to overhaul processes, improving their employees’ ability to innovate and upskill.
Beyond just adoption of the digital solutions, Ken Leong, the Director of 361 Degree Consultancy, touched on frameworks and philosophies when it comes to implementing digital changes.
However, implementing such digitalisation to processes can be costly. Ken touched briefly on grants such as the Productivity Solutions Grant to offset costs, but what about reskilling your employees?
We naturally had our own sharing on the Career Conversion Programme for Professional Executives, which provides up to 90% salary support for digitally reskilling your new hires to fit digital processes.
For more information on the CCP for Professional Executives, you can read more here.
Throughout the event, we didn’t miss any opportunities to allow the guests to network, connect, and learn from one another while enjoying refreshments graciously sponsored by 361 Degree Consultancy.
All of the efforts from LionsBot International, 361 Degree Consultancy, and the guests allowed for a fruitful and successful Learning Journey for everyone involved.
