Nine "Lean Enterprise Development Multipliers" Appointed to Help SMEs Adopt Manpower-Lean Solutions and Develop Strong Singaporean Core in Workforce

SINGAPORE, 15 January 2016 – Nine trade associations and chambers (TACs) and industry partners have been tasked with raising awareness and driving adoption of manpower-lean solutions and building a workforce with a strong Singaporean core under the Lean Enterprise Development (LED) Scheme.

The LED Multipliers have been appointed by the LED Taskforce comprising representatives from the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Spring Singapore and the labour union. As LED Multipliers, they will:

- reach out to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the need adopt manpower-lean solutions amid the ongoing labour shortage

- develop a pipeline of skilled talent for the workforce with a strong Singaporean core

- cluster companies with common solutions to embark on LED projects

- guide SMEs in developing quality proposals for LED projects

Collectively, the LED Multipliers aim to help 400 SMEs come on board the LED Scheme over the next two years.
